The Southern Vermont town of Shaftsbury sits in the southwest corner of the state, on the New York border and north of Bennington. Historic RT 7A passes through the town, as does The White Creek. Lake Shaftsbury and Lake Paran sit at either end of the town, so residents never have to travel far to enjoy a swim or to spend the day fishing or paddling in a canoe. Cross-country skiing trails abound in the winter time, all with great views of the Green Mountains, and one has only to drive an hour or less to reach great Vermont skiing and snowboarding at Okemo Mountain Resort, Magic Mountain Ski Resort, and Stratton Mountain Ski Resort.
