Patty has been active in many phases of development in Vermont for over twenty years. She has served on Rutland City Board of Alderman for ten years; the Rutland County Solid Waste District; the Rutland Redevelopment Authority, which she helped to establish; served on the steering committee for the Rutland Partnership and is currently Chairman of the Board of Marble Valley Regional Transit District "The Bus", serving in that capacity during the construction and funding of a 600 car parking deck located in downtown Rutland. In addition, Patty was active in starting the connector service between Rutland and Killington as well as establishing the bus service that now serves the Killington area. Patty served as the Executive Director for the Vermont Environmental Council, a pro-business advocacy organization, involved in permit reform. In that capacity, she has worked with the Vermont Ski Area Association on issues vital to the continued success of ski areas. In her own business Douglas Consulting, Patty also represented State Street Bank in Vermont on various special funding tools; the Zamias Group with the Diamond Run Mall; she has worked in an investigative capacity for a host of clients; and assisted clients in "Brownfield's" projects.
