Manchester Vermont is a popular destination for in-staters and out-of-staters alike. A bustling shopping scene is active year-round, with national designer outlet stores dotting the Main Street and diverse restaurants filling the stomachs of residents and visitors. The town rests along RT 7 in the southern part of the state, and is overlooked by beautiful Mt. Equinox, which also offers great hiking. Fly-fishing in Manchester is a popular recreation, and the well-known fly-fishing company Orvis is based here. The Battenkill River and Mettawee River run through the town, and the local Merck Forest has miles of hiking and walking trails and paths to explore.
